(Senare på kvällen anordnar vi även en föreläsning som ingår i biljettpriset för dig som går på seminariet.)
What is Lacan’s original take on psychosis? How is it that psychosis for Lacan is not understood as a definite set of symptoms, but must be investigated on a structural level? And how does this lead to another way of examining psychotic phenomena such as delusions and hallucinations?
I wish to discuss these basic questions – and their relevance today for clinical work as well as for cultural analysis – as Lacan’s concept of psychosis underpins my research on “outsider art”. We will be reading the first three lectures from Lacan’s seminar on The Psychoses (1955-1956) to form the background for the discussion: “Introduction to the question of the psychosis”, “The meaning of delusion”, and “ The Other and psychosis”.

The Seminar will be held in English and will be led by Brian Benjamin Hansen - Associate Professor of Applied Philosophy at Aalborg University, member of the philosophical collective Center for Wild Analysis
